Habitat Development Group has officially commenced construction on their latest $220 million Sunshine Coast apartment development, St Clair.

The St Clair development at Birtinya Island is on an amalgamated 8976sqm site on Waterside Retreat overlooking Lake Kawana and will comprise two, three and four-bedroom dwellings across eight levels, as well as a rooftop terrace on level nine.

Habitat Development Group managing director Cleighton Clark said the commencement of work would boost the local building sector, with between 350 and 400 workers to be on site during the construction phase.

“We are thrilled to be commencing construction of this landmark project in Birtinya,” he said.

St Clair has been architecturally designed to capitalise on its prime waterfront location which includes stunning ocean views across Lake Kawana to the east and hinterland views to the west.

Residents at St Clair will enjoy a range of resort style facilities unmatched on the Sunshine Coast. Facilities will include:

  • A 25 metre resort style pool with shallow water wading and loungers + BBQ pavilion & fire pit.
  • An exclusive residents dining room with a 16-seat dining table, chef’s kitchen & private outdoor entertaining terrace.
  • A sprawling 1,000sqm private parkland exclusive for resident’s to enjoy, including a fire pit, BBQ facilities and direct access to the Lake Kawana esplanade.
  • A rooftop terrace on level 9 with outdoor kitchen & BBQ facilities along with numerous seating & lounging areas that offer stunning sunrise and ocean views over Bokarina, as well as sunset vistas across the hinterland.
  • Professional on-site management, parcel lockers and secure access to all areas of the building.

Birtinya has become one of the region’s true property hot spots with excellent proximity to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital as well as to the Stockland Birtinya shopping centre which features a flagship Coles and ALDI supermarket and some 40 specialty retailers along with a variety of food and entertainment options.

“We are also very pleased to hear that the former NightQuarter precinct at Birtinya is set to be revitalised into a family friendly entertainment precinct under a new name, The Station. It’s an exciting addition to the local entertainment industry,” Mr Clark said.

Mr Clark said over 50% of Stage 1 has already been sold with prices ranging from $749,900 to in excess of $3,000,000 for a penthouse unit.

Construction is due for completion in late 2025.
